Freeze the Moment
Was there a special moment in your life when you needed time to freeze and stop at it? Was there a moment when all you really wanted was to enjoy it and nothing else? Was there a moment in your life when you knew that it is the best?
Our special moments are brief. And only a few are gifted with the ability to know that they are so. Sometimes it is just a matter of appreciation; regarding each moment as special. I remember very few special moments. I knew at the time that they are here now and I wanted to hold on to them.
In our family the appreciation of physical touch is not there. That's why when Mom hugged me so tightly the day I got the high marks in Thanawya Amma, I held on to the moment. I just wanted to be in her arms forever. I knew I could be in no safer place as her bosom. I cried. She cried. People around us thought I was crying out of joy. Mom thought so, too. I was. Sort of. I was overwhelmed with the feelings of that moment. I wanted time to stop. To freeze. I wanted us to be a taken photograph that never turns black and white. For a short frozen moment... I knew I was safe, loved, and well-taken care of. Mom, I love you. I just hope that you still hold the memory of that day so close to your heart and think of it as the moment when you wanted the world to stop moving and the time to stop racing.
